      Let me guess, you think democracy is “vote for my preference or else” right?

      In a real democracy, voters have a choice, not a hostage situation. The democrats are a part of this problem with the republicans.

      I just explained it to you. Just look at the Middle East for example after example of successful democracies built by bombs, not votes.

            I am not sure about that, and they do have a point about modern “democracy” spread by the barrel of a gun. The US is quite found of overthrowing supposedly anti-democratic governments and installing dictators (see Iran and most of South America). This was obviously is not democracy, but the Neo liberals/cons will claim that is what they are doing.

            I was just pointing out that ancient democracies did exist before the perversion that we see before us today. Perhaps I am just idealizing societies like ancient Greece though.

              Their comment on the middle east is definitely sarcastic. There are no functioning democracies in the middle east that resulted from a US bombing campaign, except maybe Iraq, though I don’t think they’ll keep it to maturity.
