Christians use 2 Corinthians 2:14 as an excuse for divorce “Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever? What agreement has the temple of God with idols?”
To divorce and remarry is biblically considered adultery; but Erika is a widow, and if Usha won’t convert JD gets a free pass on divorce, and Christians will just excuse it as the righteous thing for JD to do.
“what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever?”
The same they would share with a believer, because that’s what Jesus told them to do.
Christians like these should just pop all of the bible in clingo to get all their truth. But I guess it would just result unsatisfiable.
Btw, instead of this mental gymnastics, Catholic Christians just write to the Pope (or rather the holy see) to ask pretty please if he can declare their marriage was never real.

Like they care.
