Because he’s a delusional narcissist that suffers from galloping dementia and is completely out of touch with reality. Plus he enjoys causing suffering for others.

"In the middle of 1985, I got an invitation from Adnan Khashoggi, a Saudi Arabian and a billionaire at the time, to come to his apartment in Olympic Tower. I went, and while I didn’t particularly go for the apartment, I was impressed by the huge size of its rooms. Specifically, it had the biggest living room I’d ever seen. I had plenty of space in my triplex, but I figured, What the hell? Why shouldn’t I have exactly the apartment I wanted—particularly when I built the whole building?

I decided to take over one of the other apartments on the top three floors and combine it with mine. It has taken almost two years to renovate, but I don’t believe there is any apartment anywhere in the world that can touch it. And while I can’t honestly say I need an eighty-foot living room, I do get a kick out of having one."

          Guess who said that.

Why isn’t Trump using those bribes to feed Americans instead? Doesn’t he care about Americans? Does Trump ballroom more than he wants Americans children to not go hungry?

        And the majority of Americans:

        A. Openly wanted this

        B. Didn’t care enough to view it happening as a problem

        C. Didn’t think it would happen?

Because it’s paid for with bribes “donations”

This is also how he was able to skirt congressional oversight on it.

No, he moved forward without bothering to ask anyone for permission and then fired the oversight agency when they loudly complained about the complete destruction of the East Wing.

That motherfucker rationalizing a $230,000,000 grift to himself when he’s trying to argue that he can’t fund food for the poor is big time motherfuckery.

May the spirit of Player 2 be upon him.

He’s not rationalizing it to himself but to anyone who’s challenged enough to listen and take his words in earnest. 😔

No, I believe it’s a reference to Queen Marie Antoinette, Queen of France during the French Revolution. She was notorious for a life of decadence (even by monarch standards) while the French population starved.

It’s where “let them eat cake” comes from.

This is exactly it. He’s saying that Trump is behaving like Marie Antoinette right before the French revolutionists chopped off her head.

I’m sure that’s what the reference was but this still feels “slimy” to me. It’s like when people think it’s ok to be homophobic when they’re saying how Trump loves slobbering on Putin’s cock or it’s ok to be misogynist when you’re talking about Lauren Boebert. I don’t like the Idiocracy thing where whoever is the loudest dickhead gets to be king, I think that sucks. I prefer the approach of someone like Mamdani, who carries himself with grace and really wants to help people, to Newsom’s “just like Trump except I’m a Democrat guys I promise” approach.

Fuck Gavin Newsom, he’s no friend to InI and he definitely is transphobic. He said so on those neo Nazi podcasts he loves to appear on. His legislative record proves it.

Saying that trump is slobbering on Putin’s cock is not automatically homophobic, unless you think a dude giving another dude a blowjob is inherently degrading for the blowjob-giver? The point is that trump is pleasuring Putin, and they’re both cis men, so presumably trump isn’t going to be sucking on Putin’s clit… Would you rather people say Trump is rimming Putin’s asshole, as that is less specific to what genetals people have?

My read on Newsom is that he’s meeting the American public where (he thinks) they’re at, as well as showing how trump’s “he tells it like it is” memetics are not exclusive to trump. He’s breaking their pattern-matching so they can’t immediately shut their brain off and agree as soon as they detect this style of rhetoric, hopefully forcing them to engage more with the specifics of what is being said than just the mere tone.

The post is not literal. Marie Antoinette’s gender has nothing to do with her position in pop culture as the poster child of the casual detachment from reality that wealth brings (i.e. “Let them eat cake”). Given that this situation is over the expiration of food benefits, THAT is why Trump is being compared to Antoinette (and also why the comparison point is her, and not King Louis, for example).

To mollify you, yes, I’m sure that a minor element of the “joke” here is that Trump is wearing a dress, but hewing in on that over the clear historical allegory is comically missing the point.

If a man cut off the penis of his lover and threw it from the window of a moving taxi, and I posted the “they’re the same picture” meme of his mugshot and a photo of Lorena Bobbitt (look her up if this reference is making no sense to you), would that be transphobic for equating a male and female? I don’t think so, because the point of the comparison is their actions, not their undercarriages, same as it is in the OP’s meme.
