Indeed, this is a terrible development. Especially since Orban is hosting the event, receiving a war criminal (2 by now, with Trump’s illegal actions in the Caribbean) on EU territory.
At this point Zelensky is mostly sweet talking Trump, maybe to keep intelligence flowing, and the weapons Europe is allowed to buy from USA to Ukraine at an extra marked up price that goes to the US government.
But we don’t need USA much longer, and I doubt Zelensky will agree to a deal where Russia gives nothing.
Trump claimed earlier that Zelensky doesn’t have any cards, but the truth is all Ukraine is in a stronger position than ever, and Russia is on the verge of economic, military and political collapse. Which happen first we will have to wait and see.
