To our eyes int the UK, I think many see this as it is. A completely unlawful horror. A significant minority, and growing, are however buying into overtly blaming migrants, brown, black etc. for anything. My family, friends and community are recieving increasingly open comments for being brown, with specific abusive terms. It is getting ugly.
My mayor, Keith Wilson of Portland, made a great point over the weekend in the midst of Trump’s attack on the city that’s stuck with me.
To paraphrase, since I’ve heard multiple versions of it, “Imagine if instead he sent hundreds of engineers, hundreds of teachers, or hundreds of addiction specialists.”
Trump has no interest in improving America, only in being a strongman dictator.

Funny you should mention it, the support for far right parties in several European countries collapsed once they get into government. Turns out they are all bark and no human articulation. But it is risky to just let the far right take power and let them make mistakes for everyone to see, as we are seeing right now in America.
