While those engravings are plausible, I will point out that I don’t fully trust the cops or that republican Governor - and certainly not the FBI - not to be fabricating evidence to enable Trump to pin the murder on his political enemies.
I just seems too convenient that those casings with those engravings should be found mere hours after Trump said the left owns the murder because they compared Charlie Kirk to the Nazis. It smells made up from a mile away.
Why? All the evidence released so far indicate his family is conservative and he is as well, and he was radicalized by online anti-Trump conservative groups. It’s not clear which groups (could be further right Nazi-adjacent groups), but there’s zero indication that he somehow flipped liberal over the past few years.
You can be anti-fascist and conservative, you can also be fascist and claim to be anti-fascist if it’s not your brand of fascism (see tankies, and anti-Trump far right groups).
I’m not a fan of our Governor (I live in Utah), mostly because he’s spineless. He was very vocal about being pro-trans kids, but refused to veto an anti-trans bill because “it would get overturned” (also true). If he actually did what he claims to believe in, he’d be a pretty good governor, but he rarely takes a stand, probably because he wanted to win reelection. He’s pretty centrist for Utah, and Utah is pretty centrist for a red state (not crazy like Kansas, or Oklahoma). People here don’t like Trump much (he got fewer votes in the primary than Kasich, who had already dropped out of the race) but he still won by a landslide because of the R next to his name. Utahns are fairly reasonable policy wise, just very tribal.
My point with all of that is that I trust our Governor to give accurate facts and not sugarcoat things to appeal to Trump. Mike Lee might, but not Cox.
I was just pointing out that whatever this administration says or does should be taken with a massive salt crystal. If the FBI releases any statement now, you have to question what their angle is for saying that.
The pigs too, but that’s nothing new. And yet, in the Trump regime, I distrust the pigs less than I distrust the FBI. That’s saying something. But I still distrust them - particularly Utah pigs.
This regardless of whether it’s about the evidence found in this case or any other case. My point was that it’s critically important to think critically about any information released by the authorities, today more than ever.

Sure.
What we have so far is:
Trump claiming it’s a leftist doing this - obviously politically motivated
evidence pointing to him being conservative, and potentially radicalized by the far right
We’ll see how much grip Trump has over the FBI, but I really don’t see them doubling down on what Trump says here. There’s so little to gain and so much to lose.
The 30-06 round allegedly used has a 5cm casing fwiw.
And harbor freight sells handheld electric engravers which are typically used to put your name/initials on (harbor freight tbf) tool steel, so brass would be fine.
But also, pics required before I’d consider believing it. It switched from trans writing on the bullets to Internet/Reddit subculture memes pretty damn quick after the Internet erupted into bloody Kirk memes.

Didn’t they just announce a suspect and it’s another right-wing nutter?
I need a video tutorial on engraving brass, because that all seems like too much to fit in a couple centimeters and still be legible.
Like is it some inkjet/ etching process?

You are right

Hand engraving? not in the least.
Machine engraving? again no. More like a water jet with a burr bit. Can do fine work with ease.
Yes, I saw pics of him with lots of guns and his MAGA family. He didn’t occur to me as the typical Bella Ciao type.
Apparently Bella Ciao was co-opted by the Groypers
