I’m not entirely sure about that but, in case it helps, you could download a Lemmy app to customize the UI of how you view Lemmygrad.

Second this. I use Jerboa exclusively, except when I want to add a hexbear emoji to a post.
If you memorize the colon codes you can still use hexbear emojis on jerboa
