    So he thinks it should cost the price equivalent of the most inexpensive modern “cable” packages available? A few providers offer packages in the $35-50 range, IIRC.

    Premium HBO is $21 a month… so ~$35 seems like the target he has it mind.

    I guess it all depends on how you assess things. Their content catalog is big (but not as big as it should be, they removed a ton of stuff). But I think it’s a fallacy to look at it from a volume of content available POV. Unless you are on the low end of the spectrum, like AppleTV was. That’s part of why it was free/ $5 a month when it launched years ago. But these things need to hit a ceiling. And I personally think $19.99 it a fair ceiling for a service that has a deep catalog and offers 4k video.

    So they already break my ceiling.
