Too many people pearl clutching today over worries of retributive violence, as if the fascists aren’t already going to be committing that violence on us in the near future regardless. It’s not too early to say that this scumbag deserved much worse and I’m glad he got rocked so publicly. Mods I’ll understand if you delete this and I’m truly sorry for the trouble if you do, I just need a personal break today from the media cacophony of liberals collectively reconciling with the realization that we live in an abnormally and horrifically violent society.

I feel like THIS is retributive violence. Democratic politicians were earlier shot dead in their homes, so I’d say that republicans (who are themselves endorsing political violence) shouldn’t be able to feel safe either.

Trump ordered flags to half staff. For a fucking shitposter. 2 congresspeople in MN get gunned down and nothing.

Kirk promoted gun violence to justify the 2nd amendment. It would be poetic justice if the killer was someone whose loved one died from gun violence and chose to give him a taste of his own opinion.

The Republicans are only going to talk about violence against them. They have a victim mentality and Charlie boy is now a martyr.

I don’t think his name will linger in memory very long. The pro gun crowd doesn’t care when people die, they just don’t. And they’ll happily use his name for a little while, but it’s not like they actually valued his life any more than they value the lives of the children who die from routine school shootings every year. They’ll forget about him soon enough.

It’s sad to say that, too. We’d like to imagine that these gun lunatics have some sense of empathy with their political allies, or other humans in general, but many of them just don’t. And because they don’t feel that at all, they can’t even fake it, not for long.

Not really. His death put a cap on his ability to say new things or respond to current happenings and cultural events. He was neither timeless nor profound and 5 years from now this is the only thing most people will remember vs him yapping in their feeds about current events this diminished him.

That’s exactly what happened to Rush Limbaugh. He’s no longer relevant to the current conversation and while not forgotten, he can’t spread his continued message anymore.

His voice couldn’t become louder than it already was. A mouth that big can’t get any bigger.

          Also, he’s dead.
