    The first film used the TV series’ premise to good effect. It uses the TV status quo as a starting point - Cruise wasn’t an especially important member of his team. Then we watch the rest die one by one and Cruise is left panicked and on the run. He was never supposed to be a lone wolf and that was the point.

    As the films progressed he became more and more a James Bond style superspy, of course, but that first entry will always be the best.

      The last movie just seemed to drag on way too long. Like they could’ve easily cut 20+ minutes off the runtime if the movie wasn’t busy fellating itself.
