You can make this whole spectrum with unambiguous and canonical Discovery characters alone.
- Lesbian: Jett
- Gay: Stamets & Culber
- Bisexual: Georgiou
- Transgender: Gray
- Queer: Adira (Non-Binary)
- Plus: Michael Burnham, who’s also involved for some reason
To say nothing of the representation on Lower Decks and Strange New Worlds. New Trek’s been killing it.
Georgiou: Bisexual
When she starts flirting with Stamets, he says that he’s always been gay. She then responds with “Don’t be so binary”. Makes me think she’s probably closer to Pansexual
True, but it makes for less amusing acronym jokes.
Also, whoops, I really should have checked the username before Discovery-splaining in the comments. I know you’ve been back for a bit, but good to see you around Stamets. 👋
Oh 100℅, I’m just being a pedantic ass lol
And don’t… Don’t take a look at my posting history for today then lol 115 posts in a very short period of time. I have a problem.
As for DSC, I know it well but doesn’t mean I am wrong on stuff occasionally. Besides I like seeing other references to DSC that I haven’t made lol
Definitely pansexual. She will dominate all, not just men and women.
Something ain’t right.
Jadzia isn’t Lesbian and Dax would fit more in the Trans category.
And on the Trans category that’s a J’naii right? Wouldn’t that make them be a more fitting representation of A or I?
But what to fit in Intersex or then Agender?
And on the Trans category that’s a J’naii right? Wouldn’t that make them be a more fitting representation of A or I?
I think that’s Soren specifically, who was assigned agender at birth but identified as female. So trans suits.
Agreed an Dax, though - definitely pansexual, not a lesbian.
Nonbinary? Which for the binary folks you’d have to have a Binar
I love how Q is his own thing. Clearly not cishet, but refusing to be in any category with mortals.
Very queer, indeed!
Didn’t we meet his wife in that one episode?
That was also Q though.
So … selfcest?
Are the Q actually different entities, or are they after their apoteaosis just different facets of the same “individuum”?
Was the whole “civil war” just a play of an infinite bored creature?
Yes
T is for tuvix you philistine
TURN IT! TURN IT TO COFFEE!
I feel like (fuzzy memory of DS9 here, so feel free to slap me with facts) Bashir seemed more biromantic than bisexual. I never got the feeling he wanted inside Miles’ pants. He just wanted to spend all his time with him.
This comment is Garak erasure
Yeah I felt the same about them as I did him and Miles. I could be forgetting something, but I just didn’t get (or remember, is been about 12 years since I watched it) the sensation he wanted to bang anyone except Jadzia. Even Ezri he just wanted to be best friends with.

Who?
The First Lady of Ferenginar?
The Dabo girl?
I have, up until I was too broke to keep Paramount. I think I’ve only missed the last season.
I hope you can find a ship somewhere to carry you over the sea to that last season.
Oh I haven’t had a working PC since before Christmas and I’m not doing all that on my phone. I’d rather just wait and see it on my regular screen.
This meme is really stretching to begin with.
Jadzia wasn’t a lesbian. She could have passed as Bi, but she is so often referenced in trans discussions that it seems like she should have been T instead of that one off character from TNG.
I guess the author struggled to find a character for L so they slapped her in there lazily?
Even Odo could have been used for T because his people don’t even have genders, they emulate them purely for the convenience of the audience. 🤷♂️
But then Garak did not feel strictly gay either. In fact it seemed like his attraction was more based around the quality of someone’s interaction rather than their gender.
This implies that people cannot have platonic relationships with people of the gender(s) they are attracted to, which is bullplop.
That wasn’t intended to.
I feel like 90s TV wasn’t able to do but so much before networks would throw a fit, but my head canon for him and Miles is a shared custody with Keiko lol. Whereas I see him and Garak a little more platonic, with the questionable possibility or slight implication of something else. xD
The three of them together with a baby would be grounds for a hit comedy!
I’d watch it. 😂
Data makes the perfect +, because his brain is made from Positrons!
Wouldn’t Jadzia Daz be pansexual? Or bisexual? Or… Something not easily defined by human standards due to the whole symbiote relationship?
Definitely not lesbian. Put Reno there for sure.
I don’t know how to categorize Dax. I don’t think we know enough about the symbionts to even know if they’re sexual at all, much less how they fit in the sexual spectrum. (or at least if we do, I don’t remember. I wasn’t friendly to the spectrum myself last time I watched DS9. I still shudder at the memory of who I was brainwashed to be)
I don’t remember what we knows about Kira, but she always seemed like she had very lesbian energy to me. Again, it’s been since 2013 since I’ve watched that show, so I bet it was revealed, but I can’t remember myself. But whatever she is, you gotta admit she seems like she could be.
I don’t remember what we knows about Kira
Kira was, I think, exclusively shown being romantically interested in Men. First Bareil, then Shakaar and lastly Odo near the end of the show. Mirror Universe Kira was a completely loose cannon though.
Now that you mention it, the name Bareil does ring a bell. And the Odo pairing sounds vaguely familiar too.
Wow! Very clever Sir! 👏🏻 Good work! <Genuine - no snark>
Excuse me?! How is Bashir in Bi when mirror Kira is all over everyone, man and woman, and that is obviously just a reflection of how Kira is, just the evil version.
I am willing to chalk up the undertones with Garak up to media at the time being afraid to portray gay men. I’m super glad that Discovery got a chance to do that. But still, he’s not the poster child of the show for bisexuality!!
Is the B doing triple duty?
