And this is why the GOP is trying to gerrymander the hell out of everything. They know they will lose if they don’t cheat.
Iowa has an independent redistricting board, but I wouldn’t be shocked if Republicans saw the writing on the wall and did everything in their power to neutralize or destroy it.

Because it’s state politics in Iowa, which, while meaningful, isn’t going to hugely impact people outside of Iowa.
It’s the state Senate, not the US Senate, so most people will never hear about it unless they actually read the local news. Major events happen locally that actually have an immediate impact on your life and I’ll mention it to someone and usually they have no idea what I’m talking about.
Well, the Des Moines Register certainly is.
Because they are part of the problem. A corporate, for-profit media system is antithetical to truth and freedom.
