    Arguably, Linux is developed mostly by big corporations. They just don’t own it.

      Yep, the Linux Foundation’s reports show that ~70% of kernel contributions come from devs paid by companies like Red Hat, Intel, and Google - but the distributed nature and open governance is whats really revolutionary comapred to traditional corporate software.

      I think you mean the userland, but even then big corporations are not that involved. I am struggling to see where you are coming from.

          Still struggling, getting paid does not equal big corporations developing.

          Edit: After thinking some more I think what you mean is big companies contribute.
