“This country was built on patriots stepping up, whether it was popular or not, and doing the right thing. I truly believe this is the right thing,” Cain said on Fox News.

Well, first note is that America was built on the work of immigrants.

But… What does he mean “the right thing”? I looked at the rest of the article to see if it was explained. This is the closest I could find:

“I felt it was important to join with our first responders to help secure the safety of all Americans, not just talk about it, so I joined up,” Cain said, speaking directly to the camera as John Williams’ theme from the 1978 “Superman” film plays.

So, it’s for “the safety of all Americans”. Nothing but propaganda. He’s saying that all illegal immigrants are dangerous criminals, otherwise you’d only want to deport the ones who actually are dangerous. By the way, I just saw some statistics that 2024 was the safest America had been since the 1960s.

Immigrants are mostly law abiding people. It should be completely fucking obvious, but haven’t you ever heard of the concept “only break one law at a time”? The idea is that the more laws you break at once, the more likely you’re going to get caught for something, and then you’ll be punished for everything, so if it’s important to you to break one law, then only break that one.

It’s generally very difficult to sneak into America illegally. That’s the one law they break. If they break other laws, they’ll be punished and deported. I would wager that most illegals break fewer laws in America than they did in the country they came from, out of fear of being deported.

And the trashiness of making that announcement while the famous Superman music plays. There were some alternate timelines or universes where Superman was an authoritarian tyrant. Maybe Dean Cain was thinking about those versions of Superman. Because the famous one isn’t really about hating people and being racist.

Probably not padlocking them in the back of the next Penske truck like the rest of us mean.
