In fact, I’d argue that the reason for most of what’s happening right now is that politicians and the rich are not at all scared of being dragged out of their homes by an angry mob and hanged for their crimes against humanity. You can’t craft perfect anti-corruption laws. Making them fear retribution from the people would work better than any fine or potential jail term.
