Study from World Travel & Tourism Council looked at the economic impact of tourism in 184 countries
Donald Trump’s policies risks alienating millions of international travelers and could cost the U.S. economy billions of dollars due to a sharp drop in tourism, a damning report says.
Amid the president’s immigration crackdown, travel bans and sweeping global tariffs, the U.S. is expected to be the only one out of 184 countries to see foreign visitor spending fall in 2025, according to the World Travel and Tourism Council.
The study suggests that the U.S. economy is on track to lose $12.5 billion in international spending this year alone – but the actual shortfall might be much greater.
I don’t think travel insurance works that way.
It’s usually for predefined reasons, like natural disasters, pandemics and stuff.
So, I’d double check the policy and what you’re allowed to cancel for.
I’m afraid to check ticket prices again as I would hate to see them much cheaper than before.
It might also include civil war.
I’ve seen mixed messages on that, so I made sure of it. I appreciate the word of caution though!
Yeah, the usual savings from early ticket purchases might not be there this time. We’ll have to see I guess.
I just checked and the prices were about the same or slightly higher.
