I guess I don’t really understand the hate for this? It’s essentially no cost or extra complexity to add and it makes the driving more fun and engaging. Since when did people care about being cool again?

I mean fuck you if you want to have fun driving I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

      More like “backwards-thinking”.

…and ffs I hope this won’t be allowed when the speakers are emitting to the outside. We do not need artificial noise on the roads!

Depends on how loud it is, but regulations require electric vehicles to make some noise so people can hear them. But considering this car is pretending to be a v8, my guess is that it will be very loud and annoying

regulations require electric vehicles to make some noise

Even that is so dumb already. I’m happy I can still disable that on mine (it’s older than that regulation).

Yes I know about the straw argument of blind persons - which usually say that is not really a problem. A rolling car emits enough noise. Heck even bikes can be heard. This is really only for the benefit of healthy people that learned for years “cars loud” so they rely on their hearing only and often walk in-front of bikes too not expecting anything else but cars. And this has to stop. This whole focus on “cars” and “noise” - the “car brains” need rewiring.

This is exactly what everyone will shake their heads and laugh about in 20 years when RCR gets hold of one. Like Chrysler’s “talking car” stuff from the 80s.

Pathetic. Exactly the sort of thing that tasteless middle aged losers will buy.

      Convincing, maybe, but cool? Never.

Also, I actually kind of liked the Ioniq until you pointed that out.
