So real! Just found one of the first (but not THE first) places near me. They sell their rock bottom high grade for $8/g & $5/g if improperly cured. Just discovered the actual first place that opened and they got $5/ for perfectly serviceable bud. Plus it’s like four miles closer. Easy decision every time.

$4.20 (heh.) a gram for the milled legal stuff in Canada. It’s perfectly fine, even better as a dry vaper.

Some shops here are still way over priced for no good reason, so I gotta drive a whole kilometer further to Value Bud.

Sativa and Indica mean nothing anymore.

Everything is massively hybridized, there are no meaningful distinctions.

What there are distinctions between is THC, and CBD.

THC is the mild hallucinogenic stuff, that makes you giggly or goofy or paranoid or connect dots you don’t normally connect.

CBD is the stuff that makes you feel kinda warm and fuzzy, acts as a mild to moderate pain reliever, calms you down.

Perhaps at one point in time, Indicas were much more CBD than THC, and Sativas were much more THC than CBD… but they’re all massively hybridized now, not to mention significantly more potent/concentrated than back when the Hippies were toking up at Woodstock.

If your shit doesn’t have labels, approved by some kind of state backed testing board or regulatory agency, that actually indicate the concentrations of shit that actually matters, your bud tenders have no clue what it is.

Even if it does have a label, it could still be wrong… I mean, its not like a bunch of budtenders or anyone else involved in the supply chain for weed would ever make a mistake and then genuinely forget they did that…

From what I can tell from my formal biology degree, and experience closet tent growing, the only difference is how long you let it mature before harvest.

I can’t stand budtenders honestly, like, I’m not looking for your vibes based appraisal of the weed in your store. I want a testing sheet.

I wanna look at a chart listing cannabinoids and cross-reffing them with their Strains.

I don’t want to have to go look on leafly to see if a particular Strain contains Beta-Caryophyline or CBA or CBN. I’m a medical user, I have been doing this long enough I know what cannabinoids to look out for, I just don’t understand why dispos don’t cater to that.

    Edit: autocorrupt

i hate dispensaries for the opposite reason. i just want some damn weed bro, just fucking pick one and take my money.

even then there’s always something “off” about it and i’d rather smoke someone’s homegrow anyway.

legalization has been really fucking disappointing.

      • I’ve been thrilled with my latest regular dispo. It’s run by a super sweet couple and is totally vertically integrated. Its not often you get to chat with the farmer, even less-so being handed a quarter of their newest Strain for free

my general experience is having to navigate a bunch of jargon about imaginary distinctions and stupid names and oils and gummies and waxes and ointments and arbitrary price schedules around them when all i want is a sack of literally whatever bud because there’s no appreciable difference for me and i just want to leave this awkward ass situation and the gentrified hellscape it lives in and get high already. i’m not an enthusiast or a lifestyler im just a fucking pothead, i don’t give a damn and don’t have the energy for that level of crap. i’m glad your experience has been more pleasant.

I’m a pretty long time user…how do you even get to the point where you can weigh the effects of each cannabinoid and know which ones best suit you? I don’t even think i can find the cannabinoid profile of buds I buy at the dispensary

For a while I was using URB brand disposables and those list a full cannabinoid profile on them. Pair that with observation of effect and you can build up a list of cannabinoids you agree with

Barring that, go by smell! Lemony means limonene, earthy means pinene, peppery taste and burn means Beta-Caryophyline. These different terpenes and cannabinoids can combine and change the high with the entourage effect. Limonene is often uplifting, found in sativa type strains. Pinene will couchlock you, foind most often in indica type strains. Other cannabinoids are harder to identify by species though, so testing is usually required to identify them, I only know of the one with a strong flavor I can identify by taste.

Just don’t tip, nobody is making you. Some people like to have the option, let them. I will never understand the incessant complaining on payment terminals accepting tips. Press the big red button and move on?

People aren’t complaining about it’s mere existence.

They’re complaining about the fact that its presence inherently implies an expectation to tip. And empathic people that are patronizing a merchant that has any amount of service provided will, when blatantly presented the option to tip, feel obligated to, especially since the person that will be getting the tip is typically staying at them while they complete the process.

Now you can say something like “get over it”, but lots of people don’t like being made to feel like that. Even the ones that do still put their foot down and refuse still don’t enjoy being asked.

I would venture to guess that even people who like tipping enjoy it more when it’s not an obvious option, because offering one at all makes it feel like a grander gesture.

The option to tip has always existed, but making it more streamlined and impossible to auto skip it is just uncomfortable. Not choosing to and intentionally choosing not to are different things, and it makes people uncomfortable.

everyone’s running boilerplate POS software it because it’s a cheap low-effort way to get set up, and it has a tip option built in because it’s usually for restaurants. same as how the EULA for your favorite video game is literally copy-pasted without a thought just so it has one. literally nobody cares if you click “no tip” at the local boutique.

I agree with everything you are saying about the implication and the position it puts people in. I’m not sure that its preferable to always include a tip option.

However, people do complain about its existence. I have worked at places that have a tip option, and people do complain to the worker about the option being there. Nobody working there has asked for the option to be installed, just press “No tip”.

facts. i can’t even really tell much difference between most weed. its basically all the same to me no matter what tier or strain it is, besides shit which is on the obviously very low end like brick weed and the highest tier stuff. for me it basically all gets me equally high in the same way and tastes basically the same with a little variation

I really only notice a difference with extracts. If it’s honey in a vape, then they act like they are commonly said to. But flower, yeah no difference unless the trichromes got a dark red.

If you can’t tell the difference, then you’re either getting shitty stuff, or getting something that’s mostly balanced with a slight leaning one way or the other.

Get some that’s got a bigger split and then see how you feel. Sativa is way more fun, and is my preference most of the time. But I live in an area that for whatever reason most of what’s available is indica, or a balanced hybrid. So better than none. But man I wish sativa was easier to get locally.

I hate to break it to you, indica VS sativa doesn’t affect the high. It does influence the structure of the plant growth, but that’s about it. It’s a common myth and only perpetuated now by bs marketing.

        same for drunks.
