Here’s a tip: don’t shove that phone in my face unless you want it smashed.

it didn’t cost anything up front, so go big! 1000% of $0 isn’t even a nod of acknowledgement.

I love in Massachusetts, servers and voters made sure they will never earn a living wage lol.

“Massachusetts Restaurant Association, which says the wage hike would lead to higher operating costs, lower income for servers, and rising prices for consumers. The Committee to Protect Tips, partially funded by the MRA, has raised more than $1.5 million for the lobbying effort against Question 5.”

“The industry group, which represents restaurant owners and operators, cites an online survey of servers and bartenders conducted by research and consulting firm CorCom Inc which found that of 351 respondents, more than 90 percent wanted to keep the system as is.”

    🤬 all these 🤬s:

Ending the tip credit (where employers can pay less than min wage as long as your tips put you at or above min wage) would remove one of the biggest sources of wage theft in America.

I personally was a victim of this when I was a teenager. I worked at a shitty diner for $2.13 an hour and I didn’t know my employer had to make sure I was making at least $6 an hour or whatever (it was a couple decades ago)

I am currently a tipped employees and I support ending the tip credit (I don’t live in Massachusetts tho).

Honestly tipping is a dated practice. It should end. Removing the tip credit won’t kill it though. It’ll just help protect the vulnerable.

Amazing how it can simultaneously make it more expensive for consumers and lower wages for workers. Where’s that extra money they’d charge be going??

I think the post is about manners, not paid door personnel. That said, yes, we all deserve a living wage.

    American men.

8 out of 10 American women let the door slam in my face. It is very much not a reciprocal thing.
