I haven’t used this soap sample in a really long time. It’s old and getting hard, but I was able to spread it around on the inside of a tub lid and load it no problem.

I enjoyed the lather, but I got some mild frag burn which took away from an otherwise enjoyable shave. Oh well!

After my experiment today, I’d say it probably depends on the razor :-)

Same brush, soap, and razor as yesterday, but this time I stropped. I didn’t even strop all that much - about 15 on linen and 30ish on leather. The difference was very noticeable! The shave is closer and more comfortable. It also just plain felt better during the shave.

I can’t definitively say it was 100% the stropping that improved the shave, but I do think it had a lot to do with it. I’ve always thought this razor felt “soft”, as in the metal has a certain soft feel to it compared to the Koraat Moarteen, for example. I’ve had poor shaves and superb shaves from both razors, and this being my 65th straight razor shave I’m starting to have more of the latter from both!

Very nice! I didn’t strop, but I do wonder if stropping would have improved the feel. The end result is really good, but I think overall it could have been better. I think this razor is made of relatively “soft” steel, so in theory I’d think stropping would help. Maybe I’ll try it again tomorrow.

It has to do with taking up screen space. “Advertising and headers take up …”. The title bar is sort of a header, so I posted how to remove it.

Right click up on the toolbar and select “Customize Toolbar”. Uncheck “Title Bar” to get ride of the text at the top of the screen.

Edit: apparently this stuck a nerve. This is a way to increase screen space, just like how someone recommended using verticle tabs.

Hell yeah

If it’s just for charging, a USB-C port is just a different part. The charge controller and everything can stay “dumb” if it’s a low power device.

The USB-C spec is complicated and to take full advantage of it is expensive like you said, but I think just using a modern form factor isn’t expensive.

Yeah, that stinks.

Another superb shave from Fanzine Saponifications. I used my favorite synthetic brush last night and got one of the best shaves of my life, and today I used a badger knot. I knew from the start that I probably didn’t load enough soap, but pressed on anyway. Results are still amazing.

Luxury shave because I was so excited about this new soap.
