AKA Ein Jahr lang bezahlt irgendwas arbeiten

Naja… Es steht ja noch in den Sternen wie die Vergütung künftig aussieht, aber meine Erfahrung im Bereich Schulbegleitung ist: 35 Wochenstunden hochanspruchsvolle Arbeit für 500 - 600 € Taschengeld im Monat. Die Kinder, mit denen viele Freiwillige da arbeiten, brauchen eigentlich professionelle Schulbegleitung, aber stattdessen werden sie FSJler:innen verheizt. Und das ist eine Inklusionsleistung, bei der sich der Staat freut, ein paar mehr billige Arbeitskräfte zu habe.

FSJ hat also mit "normaler* ehrenamtlicher Arbeit nix zu tun.

I’m not thinking about safety precautions, but about “new(…ish…?)” health and nutrition guidelines for children.

For example: no honey before the age of 1, no raw meat during pregnancy, sturdier/bulkier car seats, and kids wearing bicycle helmets is more or less the norm where I live.

I can’t think of any more examples, but whenever my parents-in-law are visiting, there will inevitably be at least one thing where they scoff at us and say something like, “Ugh, kids these days… We did/didn’t do this or that, and it didn’t harm us, and we turned out just fine…”

Although my little fun fact doesn’t apply to THIS flywheel generator, I recently learned, that flywheel generators are used all over Europe to stabilise the Continental Europe Synchronous Area: They are constantly kept spinning and because of their inertia they level any voltage drops and peaks they encounter. Learning this blew my mind because I never would’ve thought that such a simple technology was used to stabilise our electricity grid.

Please tell me why you think Bazzite is a fork of SteamOS. They have completely different foundations: SteamOS is based on Arch while Bazzite is a variant of Fedora Atomic Desktop.

Und dann gibt es diejenigen, die gerne E fahren würden, für die es aber nicht passt: Ich wohne zur Miete, die nächste Ladesäule ist 20 Minuten Fußweg entfernt und ich brauche außerdem Platz für drei Kindersitze auf der Rückbank… Das ist bei Verbrennern schon schwer zu finden und bei E-Autos um so mehr… (Zumindest halbwegs bezahlbar)… Ächz

Genau das! Ich krich dat nich in mein’ Kopp rein, dass die rechten Wachlappen immer rumheulen, dass man “ja heute gar nix mehr sagen darf”, weil ihnen widersprochen wird. Am besten noch “Zensur!” schreien…

Ich kapiers echt nicht! Niemals hat irgendwer behauptet, dass das Recht auf freie Meinungsäußerung bedeutet, dass jeder immer alles gut finden muss, was andere sagen… Und dann natürlich diese Doppelmoral, einerseits immer rumzuheulen, wenn ihnen widersprochen wird oder es Konsequenzen gibt, aber andererseits gegen links-grün-versifft hetzen. Dass die sich selber nicht peinlich sind! Selbst Kita-Kinder verstehen, wie Konsequenzen funktionieren und dass die zum Leben dazu gehören… Alltagssituation: “Natürlich kannst Du den Abendbrot-Tisch nicht mitdecken, aber erstens bin ich dann enttäuscht und zweitens dauert dann hier alles länger und später haben wir keine Zeit mehr für eine zweite Gute-Nacht-Geschichte…”

Was ist daran nicht zu verstehen, ihr Opfer?!

Huh? I mean… I agree that a lot of people in this thread act surprisingly hostile to you but I wasn’t even referring to those people, just trying to give an answer to your question, that feels kinda underrepresented in this thread: We’re all wired differently and need different forms and levels of stimulus to function properly. 🤷

Even though I am listening to podcasts almost all the time I am outside, doing groceries, commuting, running errands, I can totally get that there are people whose brains are wired differently than mine that need what you might describe as auditory monotony because listening to familiar sounds in a familiar surrounding gives then safety and is easier on their brains.

I don’t find this surprising because most people need some degree of routines or rituals to function so I don’t see why this human tendency to reduce complexity (see: Niklas Luhmann) wouldn’t apply to what you’re listening or not listening to.

This doesn’t have to do anything with brain rot, just that brains work differently and need different stimuli.

Upsi, ertappt… Hab den Artikel nicht gelesen. Ich dachte, du beziehst Dich darauf, dass Wärmepumpen grundsätzlich niedrigere Vorlauftemperaturen erreichen, als klassische Heizungen.

Rechte sind und bleiben halt am Ende doch nur Memmen.

Um den Nebeneffekt zu erreichen, kannst Du aber auch einfach Deine Vorlauftemperatur reduzieren (wenn Du nicht gerade an einer Zentralheizung hängst, die Du nicht steuern kannst).
