Equal quantities icing sugar and borax - set out in little aluminium trays where pets/kids can’t get to them. Ants will carry the stuff back to the nest and destroy it. Grateful to Sir Lister of Smeg from the other site for this tip - it works well with a bit of repetition.

We have a premade ant poison thing which I think is basically the same (I think the active ingredient listed was borax?). After neutralizing all known threat actors terrorizing the local food supply, these measures were deployed to safeguard the civilian population from future unprovoked attacks o7

My dudes the dishwasher is not edible leave it alone (they were mostly looking at the pantry cupboard, but a surprising number were chilling in the dishwasher)

I’m all 😍 with people’s pet pics! Keeping my mind off the fact that I’ve had an allergic/contact dermatitis reaction to a cream I was using on my facial burns 😭 For a while there I had ouchy annoying weeping burn coupled with OMG I want to scratch my face apart going on. Now have calmed it down a lot, might actually get a good sleep tonight 🥱. That cool breeze through the window is very welcome. I made a bluesky account and have been looking through some stuff. Don’t know if it’s something I’ll do on the regular, but it’s interesting until I get sick of it I guess.

Glad to hear it’s calming down and giving you a bit of a break from that - it’s an awful sensation!! I’m spinmeround on bluesky if you wanna follow each other, I don’t post much, but it’s usually random thoughts, quotes I hear and my thoughts on whatever KDrama I’m watching lol.

Woohoo, pakige! After inexplicably not getting one for over a decade since leaving home (despite growing up religiously using one), I finally got my own Borner V-slicer. Shipped direct from Germany no less - admittedly using Evil Bezos (I had a gift card).

    yay

I can’t wait to slice up the rest of the daikon and carrot for a MUCH better-looking pickle. And then chunky batons of beetroot to make into a curry. And cabbage for a stir fry… no more questionable knifework!

I only really hope the latest models haven’t fallen to enshittification. My mum and aunt have been using their older ones for like 20 years now.

They have apparently made them a lot safer (especially with storage - you can now store all the pieces safely without exposing your fingers to the blades)

But yeah my grandma absolutely refused to use them back in the day no matter how convenient they are. I’ve definitely nicked myself in the past.

the Borner is the original and best , my mum had one and I remember using it myself to help with the family cooking. I now have one myself , but another brand , and it’s indispensable for cutting oranges, lemons and limes for marmalade

Why does my dog continually want to go and sunbake outside when it’s 37 cunt degrees out there? He runs to the door like it’s urgent. I am not opening it even with those cute pleading eyes.

Alright, so edibles question. My doc recommended trying gummies which arrived today. They are 10mg thc/10mg CBD. I’m not really across what this equates to in terms of strength… Obviously edibles are slow onset, but how strong is this going to end up being in comparison to other methods of consuming (smoking, vaping etc)… I’ve had edibles exactly once 25 years ago, and they tasted so nice that I did the have way too much thing. Not wanting that to happen with these…

I’m a very regular edible consumer. For me, it’s 45 minutes after dosing to start feeling the effects, 90 minutes to actually feel stoned, and a few hours before it starts wearing off. Quite a different experience to inhaled THC. My regular dose is between 5mg to 10mg, definitely feel toasted but it’s comfortable and pleasant.

If I got your script I would start at a third of a gummy and see how I felt, before increasing if needed over different sessions on following days.
