Americans criticize their government on all social media platforms constantly, I’ve never seen any level of censorship over such posts beyond stopping actual threats of violence.

Even thought you’ve been banned I’ll respond by saying my information comes from Chinese people. Because I am aware of the potential of propaganda I like to speak directly, face to face, with people of cultures I have questions about.

I live with Chinese people.
I live with someone who worked there for 6 years and just came to live in my home.
I live with people from every continent on earth and I speak with them.
The average person probably doesn’t give a shit about their own data and since they are just moving from one Chinese app to another then their data was already acquired so why would they care now?
Oh yeah because theres totally not propaganda on any major US social media sites. You really think X or Meta’s algorithms are any better? Id argue theyre probably worse actually, so I get why a lot of people would be more comfortable with a chinese app.

I got banned from r/worldnews back in the day for posting a Reuters article about Israel. Then a few years later, they removed the mod of r/dankvideos and deleted 2 years worth of sub history, without telling anybody or announcing anything.
The last thing I saw someone complain about a ban on TikTok was because he made a funny video showing his ability to vomit on command.
No one from TikTok is going to flock to YouTube shorts or Insta reels because it’s an immediate downgrade. They just want a painless experience no matter who provides it.
