(Go stick your head in a pig!)

Come to think of it, “share and enjoy” is exactly the way I would expect an AI-generated YouTube video to end.

As I said before, “be wary of AI” isn’t much of argument as it’s not something we ever disagreed upon. I have never once said anything to the effect of; “AI is harmless and perfect and we should all use it willy-nilly without a care in the world”. In fact I’ve been trying to say the precise opposite this whole fucking time. If your only point was to be cautious of AI, then why the actual fuck are we fighting?

Where I think we actually disagreed was in how to deal with AI and what ‘wary’ actually mean in this case. From everything I’d seen you appeared to support the burry your head in the sand and hope AI disappears approach, while I argued that we should all spend some time getting to understand the nuances of AI so that we can more easily recognize when its being misused. When I questioned you having an argument, I was openly inviting you to expand on your point and tell me what “being wary” meant to you and why that was important. I was attacking your argument as it seemed weak and I simply wanted to know more, I was not attacking you or your character (I apologize if it seemed otherwise).

As for the environmental thing, I have, on multiple occasions, said exactly why I dismissed it and also explicitly invited you to bring it back into your argument as long as you did it without presuming to know what my take is before we even started discussing anything:

…the ecological impact of AI is an entirely separate discussion, and I would appreciate it if you didn’t pretend to know my stance on the matter to support your arguments. If you want to have that discussion, we can, but not like this.

…I did in fact comment on the environmental impact of AI. I told you I was choosing to ignore that point because I find the way that you brought it into the conversation to be childish and unproductive. It also has nothing to do with the correlation between the use of AI, careers, and the integration process of AI. Environmental impact is an engineering and sustainability problem, not a moral or ethical one. Different problem, different discussion.

However, since you so clearly want to talk about the environmental impact of AI, lets hear that part of your argument and then I will tell you where I stand on the issue.

Because you can’t accept that was all I was saying.

If that’s all your saying then why start the argument in the first place? It’s been pretty clear from the beginning that I agree with being wary of AI. Either you have something else to say (which is all I keep asking for), or you don’t actually have anything to say at all (which is what I suspect but can’t know for sure, aka. why I fucking asked)

I didn’t start an argument. That would have been you. I just made a comment in response to yours, which was: “Maybe you should considering your career could be at stake.” That was literally all I said. That isn’t an argument.
