Determining if games are any good is getting really tiring because it involves wading through an insufferable number of manchildren whining about stupid things.

Essentially you need to find some influencers you agree with. That are willing to call out a game for being shit, too.

Wait for game to be out, wait for your favourite YouTuber to review it. Read Steam reviews that aren’t oneliners or religious rants

Just don’t preorder. You know what I told my friends several years ago?

“Cyberpunk 2077 is the first game I’m actually considering preordering because it looks so awesome”

I didn’t. And I’m glad I didn’t. I still enjoyed the game a lot, just later, after it had been patched to hell and back.

It’s worth noting as well, you don’t even need to agree with the reviewer, you just need to get to know their tastes. If they always negatively review games you like, then a negative review from them is basically an endorsememt.

So what is the point they are trying to make in that video?

Is it just listing facial changes since Witcher 3? Or is it whining because the girl became less fappable in their opinion and claim it is woke?

You like Huey Lewis And The News?

Their early work was a little too new wave for my taste. But when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He’s been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor. In '87, Huey released this; Fore!, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is “Hip To Be Square”. A song so catchy, most people probably don’t listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it’s not just about the pleasures of conformity and the importance of trends. It’s also a personal statement about the band itself.

Do you like Ice Nine Kills?

Their early work was a little bit too scene for me But when The Silver Scream came out I think they really came into their own Commercially and artistically The whole album has a refined melodic sensibility that really makes it a cut above the rest

Source. I just can’t see anything related to American Psycho anymore without thinking of Ice Nine Kills’ brilliant homage to it

Haha. Listening to it right now, didn’t realize your comment was from it.

Not gonna lie, that track slaps. I’ve heard a couple other songs from them, and also thought they were too scene for my liking.

Although I do quite like their “walking on sunshine” with reel big fish. I think that’s the only song I heard previously of theirs that I liked.

I’ll check out some of their other stuff. Thanks for posting.

I’ve listened to Every Trick in The Book a few too many times and its really cool for capturing the ambience of books you may or may not have read in high school. My favorite song by them is Me, Myself and Hyde which does some really cool stuff with Dr Jeckyl’s parts being performed in clean vocals with acoustic strings accompanying and Mr Hyde’s parts in unclean vocals, with Mr Hyde taking over more and more as the song progresses.

Bloodbath and Beyond is another strong contender as well

I wish she had sharper rather than rounder features to resemble her model in W3 closer, but I don’t see anything wrong with her new look, and anyone who does should probably touch grass.

Also, I’m an inveterate enemy of the braid

I finally decided to watch the trailer. Here’s what really bothers me:

CDPR give us our first glimpse into the world of The Witcher 4 as Ciri takes on a fearsome monster called the Bauk in this trailer pre-rendered in a custom build of Unreal Engine 5.

I know it’s just the first trailer, but this tells me nothing about what the game will look like, or run like. UE5 is notoriously hard to optimize properly for, and this is CDPR’s first game using it. I’m already pretty sure my 3060Ti won’t run it, but I’m sorta worried that we’re talking 5090Ti if I want to run it on my 1440p 120Hz screen, which isn’t even a high resolution or refresh rate nowadays.

I also don’t like that they replaced the voice actor, but then I think this is supposed to be a more mature Ciri, whereas Witcher 3 Ciri was still pretty young. So it makes sense.

I mean… This was the first trailer to stir up a bit of excitement for a game that has only just entered full-scale development. They probably don’t even yet know themselves what it will look like and how it will run on what hardware. Expecting that kind of info at this point is unrealistic

Yeah games using UE are always worth waiting a bit on, so many of them run poorly, either low fps or stutters and other weird issues.

They will have to make sure it runs on current-gen consoles, so it will probably also run alright on mid-range PCs.

I don’t want to sound like a neck beard but I would prefer her character model to look like her w3 one with just age applied. This one looks like someone doing cosplay and they also have Botox. It was cool trailer … excited about Ciri … just hope they improve her model.

Witcher 4 comments are bad, but Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is getting a lot worse heat. You would think that a new IP by renowned devs who have not made a single bad game would be hype.

They’re exceptionally upset that the rough-and-tumble female bounty hunter lead character of the 80’s cassette-retro-futurism sci-fi action game isn’t some generic-looking 80’s supermodel type, instead of someone who you’d actually expect to be a space-bounty hunter. I have no doubt Naughty Dog has made another banger game, but sexist coomers are gonna be sexist coomers, and there’s not a whole lot you can do for them.

Yeah, like when was there ever a heroine in 80s action sci fi that was a no-nonsense rough & tumble ass-kicking type? I can’t think of a single one, let alone multiple iconic characters that headlined my favourite movies from the era.

Yeah it’s sad. I’ve also seen a lot of people crying because Ciri is just sooo boring. I’m guessing those either didn’t play or like W3.

I will say I’m disappointed in the voice actor change as I liked the original VA, but any fan will get over that pretty quickly.

Her facial shape or whatever does look slightly different from W3 Ciri in ways that don’t happen just with age but given the new engine and whatnot, who cares :) (also a Witcher goes through many physical changes so it fits lore-wise also)

My only gripes with that choice is that Ciri is a leap more powerful than Geralt, and has the training of a Witcher, so it feels a bit DBZ-esque of the ever more powerful enemy/hero. But, otherwise, Ciri is the natural continuation of the game series.

My biggest gripe is also the power level. Witcher 3 already sets her potential way above Geralt which means for Witcher 4 they most likely will nerf her powers to not make her a, living god. Personally I would’ve preferred if they hadn’t used Ciri in the first place because it’s bound to create retcons.

Or if they wanted to make a story about Ciri they should’ve focused on who she is (someone with elder blood) not on who she isn’t (an actual Witcher). She doesn’t need Witcher powers, her innate powers are already way stronger than what a Witcher gets.
