The tempo is slightly faster and the crowd engagement amps it up a bit.
The unplugged live version of About A Girl by Nirvana
Likewise the live acoustic version of Layla by Eric Clapton
Peter Frampton: Frampton Comes Alive!
Cheap Trick: Cheap Trick At Budokan
For both of them, the entire album is fantastic.
Talking Heads: Born Under Punches.
Sick-ass bass riff, searing guitar intro… like Primus meets Tool… All combined with one of their best tracks.
Anything Phish. They’re a jam band, so yeah, of course…
Pretty much any Bob Marley live recording, the songs just feel like they were meant to be heard that way.
You can hear the crowd singing along, and Bob losing himself in the music. More natural instrumentation and less synth work (subjective, I know). His songs feel like prayers for peace and that really comes through in the live versions.
To properly follow the rules and be specific, I’d say No Woman No Cry - Live at the Lyceum
All of Sierra Ferrell and They Might Be Giants.
Meet Me at Our Spot by Willow and The Anxiety
