I don’t double check the science if the story is compelling, but when they break their own rules they lose me.

Right. Like I said, less believable as the seasons go on. But still a fun ride.
This isn’t ‘less believable’ so much as it’s lazy, unimaginative writing.
Right now I’m almost done with Black Doves [Netflix]
It’s completely ridiculous, but there’s in-show logic.
This might just be me, but I can’t enjoy a show with plot holes that big.
