More than—he’s saying that the clergy in his state must be prepared to place their bodies on the line for the protection of the vulnerable. Basically, “for those who have already proclaimed that they stand up for others, get your affairs in order.”
Exactly. There was a clergyman from California that responded to this on NPR. He took issue with it, saying that if he dies who will look after his flock. I don’t want anyone to die, but it sounded like an excuse to not put himself between ICE and the vulnerable.
