The depressing thing is that even the people who say they don’t support him now will vote for Republicans next election, because they’re stupid, hateful and afraid of what they don’t understand
Democrats talk about people being treated more equally, more fairly (although to us in the civilised world, they’re still incredibly corrupt and right-wing)
People in 'Murica don’t want that. They want to be able to hate openly. They want brown people, gay people, any anyone who doesn’t believe in the same bullshit to suffer
They like cruelty
To hate the correct people is seen as a virtue in their world. They talk about their vengeful god, they want the world to end so they can go to their paradise (assuming that they’re among the chosen)
It’s not that they think the left are bad. They know that the left wants a fairer world, and that’s threatening to them because they know deep down that they couldn’t make it if there was a level playing field where their whiteness doesn’t give them an inherent head start in life
They are so afraid to lose their privilege that they see equality as losing out
