Following the ICE murder of Renee Good and an assault on the state by federal immigration forces, a labor-community coalition is calling for residents to refuse to work, shop or go to school on January 23.

Do you remember that website for a general strike that was definitely not an op? Whatever happened with that?

        This one?

        https://generalstrikeus.com/

I saw people handing out cards for it at one of the ICE protests over the weekend so I’m assuming it still still active. Just doesn’t have 11 mill yet.

          That’s the one

It’s ABSOLUTELY 💯💯💯 an op. You don’t need a card to go on strike. You don’t need to give your name, email, hometown, or phone number or be counted on a list to go on strike

Moreover, their website is WAY too slick. Only a sucker would give them any information

          Freeameri.ca looks legit, though!

I intend to do it in solidarity anyway, and I doubt we’re alone.

Glad the unions are getting involved but what’s this weak ass shit about it being one day? The whole point of a strike is you do it until they negotiate and meet your demands. One day won’t achieve much.

But to be clear everyone should participate, it’s better than nothing. We should get other states to participate too.

People need to build networks for a sustained strike, it can’t just materialize. A one day strike is a benefit if people get out and start that networking so that future strikes can go longer.

Sadly this will only hurt those in Minnesota, many of whom don’t want ICE there to begin with.
