I’ve literally bought stuff on a Sunday afternoon in Spain, when the whole country is having a collective shutdown and no businesses are open, with zero problems. (Edit: last time was between different banks, too)
We’re talking big things, like cars and motorbikes, because for normal stuff we just use Bizum, which is also really quick.
Nah, for bank transfer you have to have the full bank account number and account holder name, SEPA for us is done under a system called Bizum but is limited to 500€. The bank transfers are up to 50K or so (more than that and it does take longer for a fraud check) and are absolute
Right … another 3rd party local payment provider. Yeah, we have TWINT as well, works well inside Switzerland but useless internationally. So the CC still reigns supreme.

I literally just went to my bank and setup a bank transfer for Saturday, 17.01.
ok, which bank are you with?
UBS but that doesn’t really matter. I also have/had accounts with Deutsch Bank, Sparkasse, Volksbank and Postbank and it’s the same everywhere.
Si, you’re saying that Germany needs to learn about efficiency from the Spanish
Haha, good one.
I’m pretty sure you’re just confusing “SEPA Instant Credit Transfer” with “Standard SEPA transfer”.

Yes, Instant Credit Transfer is instant, but haven’t seen a single vendor that accepted it, yet.
