I think that’s the general consensus: the album was fine, but it was a potent reminder that peoples’ iTunes catalogs were not actually their own, but controlled by corporations that can control our music at the flip of a switch. People did not like that feeling. So in a way, it was actually a net positive at the time, in reminding people of this fact. Unfortunately later on, people have moved to not owning music at all.
