According to Noovo Info, both drivers were sleeping in their trucks when they were violently struck at 1:30 a.m.
…
According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), the truck drivers had parked too close to the railroad tracks.
Let me rephrase that: two bozos who shouldn’t be driving parked so badly they derailed a train.
The article says they were parked too close to the tracks, not on them…Am I misreading something?
The article is fine, but the headline is badly written.
“Trucks parked on tracks cause train to derail.”
2 truckers parked their vehicles on the tracks and then went to sleep, and CTV is spinning it like its the train’s fault?
I read the article a couple of times to be sure, but I didn’t pick up on them blaming VIA Rail. I don’t think any train could have physically stopped soon enough to avoid an impact.
When the headline says the train hit the trucks it implies that the train did something wrong.
If it had said “trucks block trains path, trucks destroyed” that would be more accurate
A train collision is only the train’s (company) fault when signals/barriers fail. I did not notice any article tone that blamed VIA rail.
This is hardly the trains fault, why were two trucks parked on the tracks sleeping?
Can we finally look into our sketchy ass truck industry to figure out why this is happening
Is it just me or truckers are getting worse? We need to have more freight trains yesterday.
There has been some deregulation going on recently. At least, that’s what everybody’s saying here, I don’t have an official source.
Sounds like it was done on purpose.
I, too, like to nap on railroad tracks, I find it very relaxing.
