Seriously. I would offer a few decades of sysadmin experience and a couple degrees for peanuts and a home for my family if it means fighting against hate and hurt.

No I don’t want any more yanks poisoning Canada. When Kent State and Vietnam happened, dissenters came up here. No problems in the US were solved and we are where we are today. Americans need to deal with their self-made problem. Not constantly run away.

Trump is exactly stupid enough to think kidnapping Carney would have the same effect as it did on Venuzuela, because he’s too ignorant to know that that’s not how parliamentary democracies work.

That being said, I would hope that there is a kind of dead-man-switch that will automatically trigger to dump all of our US Debt that we own into the market all at once and do some damage to their economy. Not to mention cutting off their power and closing the borders.

lol. That’s just silly. You don’t fight the US with weapons. You bleed their money dry. They come into Canada and you knock out power and infrastructure here that they need to rebuild at great expense if they want to hang around and get anything of value.

Sure it will suck to live here like that but sucks even more and weakens invaders who would also be fighting a battle at home.

        What battle at home?

Look at russia, USA opposition resembles russian opposition more and more every day.

You ruin your own infrastructure -> more of your people will die and they would just shrug. Why do you think they would be investing in your country, that’s just silly.

Why do you think they’d spend the time and money coming here? Resources? You make it painfully expensive and time consuming to get anything of value until he’s overthrown at home.

It’s how every other country has beat the US time and again after WWII. They haven’t won a single long term battle since.

They will do this because they can. To ruin, loot & rape. To assert dominance and spread fear.

I just apply russian logic here, because that’s what he follows.

Unfortunately, yes. The best way to dissuade them from trying is to act as if they will. Still, military spending ranks low on people’s priority list. At least Carney takes it more seriously than his predecessor did.

Sure it will. We have to be a less appealing target than someone else. No one is saying we can go toe to toe with the US.

Best we can hope for is for them to pick a softer target and make a drawn out insurgency inevitable.

Money spent on soldiers, bases, equipment, etc. would be absolutely useless when the US Military simply double tap every single military base in the country in the first 10 minutes. There are only 27 across Canada. Even if we added 100 new bases to spread things out they could easily do the same thing still. We are far too close, and the military capability difference is absurdly ridiculous.

The two possible things I could think of that would realistically make the US think twice, a) handing out guns and training to civilians en masse and b) a PR campaign to the US population (and military) that may lead to a refusal to invade by the troops.

I’m pretty sure A isn’t going to happen.

Pre-preparing… don’t buy US weapons with kill switches (F35). Stop the idiocy of Canada’s military strategy/needs as continuing to act as force amplification for US evil/ambitions.

By far the most important diplomatic/military posture change must be re-evaluating Russophobia. Russia’s narratives are far closer to reality than our propaganda, and our propaganda only exists to defraud us, not convince Russians that our values “are love towards them”. More important that the demonic morality of agreeing with every US warmongering propaganda in history, pretending that anti-Russia/China propaganda matters more than our defense divides us with the world. It’s that division that makes it easy for US to “settle for Americas” and give up the rest.

Preparing, together with Europe, means unity with Russia and China. Simply dropping the antagonism towards them goes a long way. It is a complete joke to try to bog Russia down in Ukraine, because, as always, they need to do the heavy lifting in protecting the world from the US.

Why are Russia bogged down in Ukraine again?

Oh, yeah, because they invaded a neighbouring country.

How is embracing Russia the answer to the US potentially invading a neighbouring country?

Russia is showing just as embarassing cowardice vs US as Canada is. One explanation for not sinking US Carribean fleet, or destroying US bases in UK is that they are receiving other concessions from US. It’s quite possible for Canada and Europe to be on the menu while 3 powers are at dinner table. Canada’s devotion to be on the US’s plate destroys any option to escape being eaten. US colonies switching alliance towards neutrality towards Russia instead of US subservience is only path to stopping the US, because it is the only path to counterbalance in western hemisphere.

Our truly demonic warmongering lies support for war on Russia is suicidal. Ukraine is a 100% US puppeted Ukraine war provocation, and the people who tell you otherwise, hate you and march you to your death. OP suggests the absurdity of a coalition of the cowardly food. When it has been so easy to divide the cowards into individual stronger submission to the US.

Step 1 for a coalition of the cowards is ending agreement for US demonic lies, and validating all of their objectives, even when their means means we get eaten next. You have to revise and challenge the demonic lies themselves, instead of pretending we have superior values that justify a liberal supremacism that is indistinguishable from nazi supremacism operationally.
