The job of the media is to hold the government to account. They can’t do that if they’re funded by the government.
Can’t do that either if the government is bought by corpos, and the media is also owned by corpos. Although I suppose that it’s kind of strange they didn’t co-opt PBS and NPR into spreading propaganda for them instead of just shutting it down. I guess they have enough of that already.
