        There’s absolutely no punishment for having multiple accounts and not really any way to verify alt usage without admitting you use them. So if you can’t beat them, join them, make a few accounts and engage in some of it yourself.

        don’t even know why Lemmy insists on being like preddit and having downvotes to begin with.

          haha yeah I understand, I just don’t engage with lemmy much more than reading the main feed and making the occasional comment or post.

          And while I dont have a strong opinion on whether downvotes should be allowed or not, I do think that if they are allowed then they should be allowed equally on every federated instance. Otherwise the instances that dont allow them will get an undeserved boost in visibility. I’ve dealt the same issue by threelonmusketeers and a now defunct conservative instance. It’s unhealthy when admins or mods put their thumb on the scales like that.

            Reminder that Goat is banned from db0 for:

            • consistent bad faith arguments
            • continued slander of users when proven wrong
            • Saying Gaza uses rape for liberation via goat@lemmy.zip
            • Tried dragging the admin into an argument when the admin downvoted one comment, and when the admin wasn’t interested, mass banned all db0 users.

            And that goat has said that he doesn’t care about genocide, has used racial slurs for Muslims (sands–t) and bans users for saying “From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free.”

            That’s why he brought them up for no reason. He doesn’t like to be proven wrong or called out for his explicit racism.

            Can’t wait for goat to reply to this and say that documenting his own actions and words being documented are Tankie.
