G’day guys, not really a dull story unfortunately but I just wanted somewhere to vent my thoughts about the nights events.
I work for myself have for about 18 months, started my own heavy mobile mechanic company business has been good always busy etc.
My wife just lost her job due to being 9 months pregnant and they made her position redundant. So we are relying on my sole income from working for myself.
Stressful yeah but manageable.
Unfortunately that all brings us to tonight,
At about 0100 I hear my car start up and crash through my front fence and off it went.
All my work tools all my licenses access cards to places and my work laptop.
I was fully packed to go do a service in the morning leaving at 0500 so I prepared everything in the car in advance so I just had to get up shower and go.
Now I’m sitting here at home waiting to call insurance and see what little they will do for me regarding the vehicle and tooling.
My wife super stressed since being about to give birth any time now and no prospects for an income for either of us unless I go win the lotto and buy a new car and tools.
The car isn’t really a problem though, I mean it is but it’s the tools that I’ll miss the most. I can’t even go get a job working for someone else again without having tools to do my job. Really is a shit situation Unfortunately.
Anyway happy new year guys I hope everyone else’s year starts off better then mine so far

Shit news. Hopefully it’ll turn up.
I’ve had 2 stolen, one was never seen again and one was found within a few days and only had minimal damage and everything inside was intact. Fingers crossed for you.
We found the car via posting on Facebook in the stolen car communities set up since where I live this is a daily occurrence.
Car was 250kms away crashed in a ditch just outside the same place every other car ends up.
All the tools and equipment gone.
Hopefully the car is repairable though will know more monday
A tiny sliver of good news then.
Thanks for the update. Keep us informed once you know more about the car next week.

Here’s my most recent update.
Hoping tomorrow or the day after to hear about if they car is repairable or not.
To me as a mechanic it looks like about 10k of damage and maybe 5k of labour.
The real problem though is insurance will pay market value and they get to pick market value it seems.
I want to buy one similar its 50 to 60k but I would put money on insurance saying it’s worth 25 to 30 or something dumb
