So, yeah, my uncle’s kind of an ass. I am bigender or genderfluid or something and I use masculine and feminine pronouns, names, and genders interchangeably. However, I tried to come out to my uncle and he said I would always be a “female”, nothing could change it, and being trans was just a load of horseshit.

Well, your uncle doesn’t understand what trans people are, and he’s always gonna be kind of an idiot it seems. He’s apparently swallowed a load of horseshit himself. Try not to take it personally, though I know how hard that can be.

Being trans was just a load of horseshit.

As a straight cis man I can resonate with this. IDK, I don’t think I know how a person could possibly know whether they are this or that. I certainly can’t. But what I know for certain is that it takes a ton of bravery to ask others to treat you in a certain way. You also should have enough bravery to cut them off if they disagree.

If you need a new auntie, give me a shout. I’ll probably forget your birthday just like I’m certain he does, but I’ll never ever disrespect your gender identity.

By saying you will always be female, he’s distinguishing between biology and culture.

By explicitly stating “female” and not “woman”, he’s accidentally validated you.
