“Just get therapy? Why don’t I strap on my therapy helmet, and squeeze down into a therapy cannon, AND FIRE OFF INTO THERAPYLAND, WHERE THERAPISTS GROW ON THERAPIES?!!!”
<sarcasm> Really? That annoying person on tiktok who thinks autism is just quirkiness and getting out of stuff for no reason can’t help me with my mental health? Bonkers! I thought they could! </sarcasm>
<snarky> In other words, water is wet. </snarky>
<genuine/serious> Sorry that happened, person you thought would help sounds a bit mean </genuine/serious>
I do know, but also there’s better parts of social than the “[INSERT DISIBILITY HERE] isn’t hard to live with or a disability, it’s just quirky” types to get advice from, like, say, people with the condition, or professionals doing a thing online as well (a lot are online for free)
Obviously there’s more than that, but you (probably) get the gist of it. There is free help and self-help out there, it can just take some time to look, and yes, there’s probably some good ones on tiktok, but I don’t have the energy to find those right now, and I was specifically calling out the “I’m so happy to have [serious condition] it’s so quirky” group.
sorry if this is long (looks long from my side lol because links)

Not to mention it’s (usually) expensive
Got it for free, it comes down to “you don’t look depressed”.
No shit, I thought you would help!
So they told her I look depressed. I was not depressed, just literaly grieving.
Got some perspective on things, was still on my own.
Guess what: you need an actual neurologist to help treat your brain disorder, not someone to tell you the obvious.
