A grandfather and granddaughter in Tennessee are dead after an apparent pitbull attack on Wednesday, Dec. 3, according to a press release from the office of 14th Judicial District Attorney General Craig Northcott shared by the Tullahoma Police Department.

The problem is not with pitbulls per se, but with their idiot owners.
This is the gun lobby argument. Guns don’t kill people, people do.
People shouldn’t be allowed to own dangerous animals period. There’s a good reason we aren’t allowed to keep Hyenas as pets in our backyards.

Yes because my guns in a safe attack people all the time. No this isn’t comparable at all. This is stupid people owning dangerous animals, that have a mind of their own.
Sure the people shouldn’t be allowed to own potentially dangerous animals, just like guns, but I still agree that it’s not the dogs fault their owners were stupid.
I love dogs, but I would also add that it should be forbidden to breed them, and you shouldn’t be allowed to get animals from someone else than a shelter
Idiots would have something dangerous regardless if they’re allowed or not. Normal human wouldn’t even try to get a dog, especially in a city.
Idiots are perhaps annoying and sometimes mildly dangerous. An idiot with a pitbull is extremely dangerous.
Since we can’t realistically outlaw idiots, we can with relative ease outlaw the obviously dangerous things they can get their hands on like guns and pitbulls.
Yeah, we had a pitbull mix and he was awesome up to his old age. But only awesome with family. Pit bulls need space to roam and they are possessive and territorial as much as loyal, crazy and determined. Ours could jump the 6ft fence and often times we had to get him off the cars…all our cars had scratched up doors hoods and roofs. Pit bulls are not house pets. Can’t keep them in, can’t keep them out. 4th of July we could kiss the bottom of the backdoor goodbye. Patch over patch. I can imagine a dogo like that being happy in Montana in a barn taking care of where chickens used to live after he eats all of the chickens.

Fuck right off. Ive never, ever read a headline like this with any other dog breed. Its always stupid, evil pitbulls.
Rottweilers and Doberman’s will make the news as well. The previous comment is correct though. Either the dog was trained to attack, or the dog isn’t being given the jobs they need by their owner to stave off boredom. Without a proper job to do, many larger breeds go a bit insane and start finding their own jobs.
