Donald Trump’s tiredness, recent MRI and hand bruise suggest he may be taking medication to treat Alzheimer’s disease, according to a “curious” California Democrat.

Rep. Sydney Kamlager-Dove, D-Calif., tweeted that Trump is showing signs he’s taking the Alzheimer’s disease drug Leqembi.

“The Alzheimer’s drug Leqembi:- Is administered through an infusion (for example, through the hand)- Can cause swelling, bleeding, or fluid leakage in the brain, requiring regular MRIs- Can cause tiredness,” Kamlager-Dove tweeted along with a picture of Trump’s hand bruise. “Curious.”

I work with the Alzheimer’s drugs somewhat frequently, and there are ~15 patients I know of on Leqembi specifically. It’s not meant to reverse or stop anything, but rather slow progression – which for Alzheimer’s can be a miracle. You’re not going to get on the med or even be evaluated for Alzheimer’s unless you’re showing some deficits though, and you absolutely need evidence of plaque build-up.

Yes but I though even evidence that it’s slowing anything down was at best very weak?

Also, is there any medicine that makes the patients look more awake/cheerful? It looks like Trump is sleepy and irritated almost all the time but then he suddenly becomes very active and his mood improves like during the Mamdani meeting.
