I have one with hormone issues. She is 16 and does not over eat. She is 4 pounds overweight and its kinda hard to take a 16 year old cat jogging. Just because you have perfectly healthy animals isn’t a realistic measure of everyone else’s pets.
Average cat is 12 pounds, so 4 pounds overweight is like a person who should be 180lb weighing 240lb. Also, a hungry cat is a fucking nightmare to live with.
If it’s hormonal based weight gain, and yiubjust fed them less, then the cat would most likely feel permanently hungry. Not an ideal situation.
Just like a person, if hormones are out of whack, it’s not as easy as just eat less/eat more.

Obviously there are exceptions but that’s not driving fat drugs for pets.
What would happen if she was fed less?
4 pounds doesn’t sound massive for an old cat compared to how fat most “fat cats” are

And then you wrap them in a blanket…right? RIGHT???
