The Trump administration is twisting U.S. military code to take revenge against Democrats who reminded troops to follow the law.

“All lawful—all orders—lawful orders are presumed to be legal by our service members. You can’t have a functioning military if there is disorder and chaos within the ranks,” Leavitt told reporters outside the White House on Monday. “And that’s what these Democrat members were encouraging. It’s very clear. And not a single one of them since they’ve been pressed by the media … can point to a single illegal order that this administration has given down because it does not exist."

    First, nothing he does as president can be illegal. Then none of his orders can be illegal. Next he will have to tell people nothing they do under orders from him can be illegal. Then nothing they do on behalf of him can be illegal. Then nothing they do in support of him can be illegal.

    This is what a narcissist’s complete inability to ever do wrong looks like when they have to project it across the system they control to keep getting their way. Complete corruption of the system by one person’s massive ego. NPD is a mental illness that should bar people from positions of power or authority over anything.

      The ruling was he couldn’t be punished for doing illegal things as president. They’re still illegal and can be reversed after the fact, assuming they are reversible.

      E.g someone illegally fired can get their job back or compensation, but Trump is immune from prosecution for doing it.
