Idk about other people but my grandparents kept their parents’ urns at home in a small altar with pictures of them and it always felt a lot less depressing compared to my other grandparents that visited their parents’ graves at a cemetery. It made their death more broachable as a subject, so to speak, since they were always in the house and part of every moment, whereas cemetery visits were always so solemn and distant from everyday life.
