This has me wondering how Khajit facial expressions actually work. Irl, this expression on a cat says “trust”, “comfort”, or even “love”. Are khajit culturally in tune with how humans and elves (myr?) would use the expression or are they more in line with real cats? And if they do have an awareness of this difference, which they almost definitely would, there is still the question of how much they’d actually care. Some would codeswitch I’m sure, but I’d bet there’d be droves of them who would reject the human use for philosophical or social reasons. Or even just for indiscernable cat reasons, like their chibi-devil counterparts.
Would a khajit be more likely to squint at someone they’re suspicious of or at someone who puts them at ease? I just dont know

In the games? Yeah. Their facial expressions are human in nature. So squinting like that would indicate doubt or distrust.
Their ears also rise and fall depending on their mood.
