Spoiler: killing people who are doing literally nothing wrong doesn’t actually demoralize the population, it makes them MORE MAD AT YOU. In fact, several of them will go “well if they’re shooting us for peaceful protesting we might as well drop this peaceful shit and shoot back, at least we won’t be mowed down like dogs”.
This has happened so many times all over the fucking world that I just wonder if being a politician requires being stupid enough to not have any fucking survival skills whatsoever, or any sense of cause/effect.
