Some parts of the ‘80s I’m jelly of, like the not expecting to be reachable constantly, seeming relative ease of getting a job, and arcade culture.
I wouldn’t want the no ozone layer, super high (for the time) milk prices, and crappy video games, though, amongst other things. I have a lot of respect for my loved ones who got through it.
And don’t forget the constant threat of nuclear annihilation. While political tensions were easing, there were several occasions when we almost all died because someone fucked up or some gadget did something unexpected or some part failed that had cost pennies.
