That’s great news! I’m still wondering if they can do a universal flu vaccine now too. That would be game changing.
“Despite all the advantages of mRNA, I’m concerned that our current DHHS has no or little interest in the science,” Hotez said.
He’s being kind - Kennedy has active interest in pseudoscience.
And an active disinterest in reality.
Republicans have an active hostility to science, probably because it doesn’t do whatever they say.
Universal vaccine does not exist and won’t exist with current approach as viruses are mutating.
That’s not what universal vaccines mean. Every vaccine coat has a constant structural regions that do not change, that’s what is meant by universal vaccine.
There’s a part of the virus which doesn’t (or can’t?) mutate. There has been talk about creating a vaccine that allows the body to target that bit.
Do you have an url for that? I’d be a bit sceptical about that as viruses survived everything so far. And I suppose they’d still mutate if we targeted that.

You can only mutate so much before it’s not a flu virus.
Cool, but then again, it is only so effective. And that even before the godknowwhat mutations. But yes, it certainly seems a step forward.
I take it this wasn’t one of the cancelled trials; I had been fearing it was targeted due to mRNA.
pfizer might have enough big pockets, to have thier lobbyists preventing trumps/rfks meddling.
Pfizer is not stupid, they will keep working because Pfizer will be alive longer than Trump, and the US is not their only market.
