Honestly, I think it’s just desperate “any media coverage is good” type of thing. I know nothing about this dude. But it’s like, now we have to hear about him and get his stupid ass take from some interview. The requirement for protecting pedophiles is a bipartisan position at this point. The people that voted no or didn’t vote are not flags at all. The entire political system apart from some exceptions are protecting pedophile billionaires.
