I think it’s possible to have small c conservative values and still be a productive and peaceful member of society. Even if I might disagree with their views.

However, I don’t know that the American political right has had any genuinely held small c conservative values since Reagan, so

Small c conservatism is specifically about victimizing minority groups. That is not peaceful.

Seems overly reductive, are we just saying anyone who falls on the right of the political spectrum is non-viable in a polite society?

You might see the irony of that?

What is polite about telling someone who was born a certain way beyond their choices that they shouldn’t exist? Not every worldview is inherently good or noble. Some are just evil.

Then how would you define conservatism (I recognize this conversation is getting annoying and if you bail out I won’t hold it against you).

Small c conservative values before Reagan were racism and segregation so I’m personally not convinced. I mean if you look at a timeline of American rightwing politics you go from Jim Crow to the Civil Rights Movement and right into Nixon’s Southern Strategy. That shit has always been based on racism and slavery.
